Simple Thing 1 and Thing 2 Costumes

Yesterday was Dr. Seuss’s birthday and Luke and Lila had to dress up as Dr. Seuss characters for school {I love the fun themed days in kindergarten!}.  When you’re twins, Thing 1 and Thing 2 are just the natural costume choices.  Let me show you how simple these Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes are to make!

Start with red shirts and pants {it’s fairly easy to find inexpensive red sweat or track pants for boys}.

Embellish the shirts with heat transfer.  I used my cutting machine to cut white circles from heat transfer, applied the text {cut from red heat transfer} next, then colored the edge with a black Sharpie.  I was all out of black heat transfer but if you have some on hand, you could edge it with that instead.

Instead of buying a blue wig, we tangled up their hair and sprayed it blue.

Meet Thing 1 and Thing 2.  They looked so cute and loved going to school dressed up!  And the costumes cost less than $10 each and took only minutes to make!  Perfect for a school party or theme day or even for Halloween!

Very cute! You must stop feeding them. They are growing too fast!
