At-Home Spa Party

To celebrate her twelfth birthday, my oldest daughter, Kennedy, decided to have an at-home spa party.  A couple of weeks before the date we mailed cute invitations in glassine envelopes filled with soap confetti and got ready for a fun night of pampering and relaxation for a house full of tween girls!

As the girls arrived, they tied terry cloth strips onto flip flops {I pre-cut the terry cloth strips to make it a quick and simple craft} …

… to make comfy spa ‘slippers’ …

… and then had manicures.  They soaked their hands in lemon water, exfoliated with a hand scrub…

… and had their nails painted.

When the nails were dry, we moved on to chocolate facial masks.  I made a homemade mask recipe that I found online {that recipe is no longer available but I’m sure you can google a similar one} and the girls had lots of giggles as they rubbed the chocolate on their faces …

… and then relaxed with cucumbers on their eyes.

While the girls were beautifying, the nibbled on snacks: fruit kabobs, pecan mini muffins, and cheese cubes.

Bottles of water with orange polka dot labels provided refreshment.

Pedicures were the final bit of pampering.

The girls soaked their feet in lavender water and then had their toenails painted.

Kennedy opened gifts and then we sat down to cake.  I wish I had taken a photo of the table with the candles lit … it was so pretty and warm.  A rag garland made from fabric scraps and tied to the chandelier added a cozy feel to the table setting.

The girls drank sparkling cider from wine glasses and ate chocolate cake and ice cream.  The cakes looked really cute on the cake stand, despite the fact that it was a bit crooked once I added the cakes.  It didn’t fall down during the party so I’m considering it a success {wink}.

The girls went home {relaxed and giggly} with chocolate body scrub and manicure kits.

Kennedy had such a fun time at this spa party, celebrating being twelve!

Those are just from Dollar Tree. They’re an item that they usually carry so you can probably still find them now.
