The Bird ‘n’ Breakfast

Remember the pretty bird feeder I showed you last month?  Well, the delivery truck brought us a new one this month and Tate, who has deemed all bird feeders hers, couldn’t wait to hang it up.

This time around we chose The Fortress, a squirrel proof feeder.  The neighborhood squirrels have been super busy around here and I decided to give the birds a fighting chance at keeping their food safe.

We took the metal lid off {I love that the lid stays attached even when it’s open} …

… and Tate helped fill it up.  She’s the Keeper of the Bird Seed.  This feeder can hold a lot of food which means we won’t have to fill it up every day … love that.

And it wouldn’t be me if I didn’t add a little vinyl love to the feeder.  The Bird ‘n’ Breakfast.  Cheesy, huh?  But kind of catchy too, don’t you think?

We hung the feeder in a tree in our backyard and then marveled at the squirrel proof design.  The dome prevents squirrels from being able to jump onto the feeding perch but if they somehow succeed the perch pulls down and shuts off the food source.  Take that, squirrels.

Tate watched and watched, hoping it would only take a few minutes for the birds to find the new feeder.  We were hoping the birds that built this sweet nest might come back for a little snack.

Some little finches finally flew in to check things out and we’re hoping they’ll be back frequently.  Tate loved their yellow feathers and had fun watching them fly around the tree.

What birds are you seeing in your backyard this time of year?

I was not compensated for this review, however, I was provided with a bird feeder for the purpose of this review.  As always, all opinions and results I share are my own.
