That’s a Wrap

A few months ago, BabyTalk magazine had the cutest knit wrap (with a few crocheted elements) featured in a clothing segment. I loved the idea of it … perfect for spring and fall weather. [Their price, however, was not quite so perfect – about $70. I would scan in a photo of the original but for the life of me I can’t find my torn magazine page or the name of the company.]

I decided to knit my own version. A little ribbon yarn, a little alpaca, some chenille (all taken from the stash). I cast on thirty stitches and then knit, purled, made a few buttonholes, and changed yarn at random. When I reached the desired length, I crocheted around the edges to give it a completed look and added some fringe in spots. It’s a bit too big now (although I still plan to use it on stroller rides to the park) but will be great when Tate’s walking next fall.
