A Stitched Heart Garland

I decided last night that we really need a bit of color and Valentine-themed decor around here so I made a quick stitched heart garland that will stay up through Valentine’s Day.

To make this banner, I cut a pile hearts from random patterned paper.  I used my Silhouette but craft punches would work equally well.  I cut large hearts and then cut out the centers and cut smaller hearts as well so that I ended up with three different sizes.

I ran them through my sewing machine, placing small hearts inside the larger hearts so they’d look as though they were floating.

The end result is a really cute and colorful banner that’s so simple to make and looks festive hanging on our mantel.  It’s the perfect decoration for a Valentine’s Day party!
