Road Trip Survival Bucket

Summer and road trips go hand in hand.  I love the idea of a long road trip, sweet memories, and special times but a road trip can also feel long, can’t it?  When we have friends going on a road trip, we love to make a road trip survival bucket for them.  We package some goodies in a bucket and sneak it onto the doorstep the night before they leave … when they wake up in the morning and head out to the car, a fun surprise is waiting to make the road trip just a little bit easier.

To make a road trip survival bucket, stop at the store and buy some fun goodies that will help pass the time in the car.  I like to include fun pens or pencils {scented pens and markers are always a hit}, notepads or journals, tissues or wipes, some gum and snacks, a lip balm, sunscreen, and anything else that might help the time pass by a bit more quickly.

Arrange the goodies in a little bucket or container {cute, cheap containers can always be found at the dollar store} …

… and add this buckets of fun printable tag.  Cut it to size and attach it to the front of the container.  I like to cut slits on each side and thread a ribbon through …

… then wrap it around the bucket and use a dab of hot glue to hold the ends of the ribbon in place.

Sneak over to your friend’s house and leave the bucket where your friend will find it before they leave on their trip.  The element of surprise and the sweet little gifts will make a summer road trip just a little bit better!
