Reusable Oilcloth Cupcake Wrappers

The smallest details can make a celebration so much more festive!  I love keeping party supplies in stock for quick and easy celebrations or occasions and these no-sew reusable oilcloth cupcake wrappers are a simple way to add instant color and fun even when you’re out of colorful or themed paper cupcake wrappers.

reusable oilcloth cupcake wrappers

To make them, you’ll need oilcloth in your choice of bright patterns and colors and a paper template for cupcake wrappers.  Rather than recreate the wheel, just google cupcake wrapper template.  You’ll find plenty to choose from.

Lay the template on top of the oilcloth and cut around it with sharp fabric scissors.  Use scalloped or pinking shears to cut the top to give it a little more style.

Join the ends of the cupcake wrapper together with hot glue, lining up the scallops or zig zags at the top.  You may want to wrap the oilcloth around a real cupcake and adjust the size before you glue it in place.

Bake cupcakes as you normally would {or simplify and buy storebought} and slip them into the oilcloth cupcake wrappers before serving.

These cupcake wrappers can be wiped down after the party {or washed with soap and water}, left to dry, and reused at the next event.

Store them by sliding them into each other to form a stack and place them in a cupboard {avoid laying them flat or they’ll end up with somewhat permanent creases in the oilcloth}.

I love the way they look and with so many beautiful oilcloth patterns available, you can have reusable oilcloth cupcake wrappers to suit every holiday!

Very interesting! I’m always low on cupcake wrappers for some reason so I’ll have to try this out sometime!

I have little silicone baking cups that I love because they’re reusable, but I love this idea for displaying them in an extra-cute way!
