Printable Christmas Lights Scavenger Hunt

Spending an evening driving around looking at Christmas lights is one of our favorite holiday traditions! We make or buy hot cocoa, pack everyone into the car, and sometimes even wear pajamas or bring cozy blankets. We drive around looking for the best light displays and many years we’ve dropped a thank you note in the mailbox of the best house, telling them how much we appreciated their efforts to add so much festivity to the season. This year, we kept up the tradition but added something fun: a printable Christmas lights scavenger hunt!

My oldest son was still away at college but the rest of us piled into the Ford Expedition for an evening of cruising.

The Ford was the ideal vehicle for our chilly Christmas lights tour: heated seats in the front and the second row to ward off the Texas chill, a heated leather wrapped steering wheel for me {my new favorite feature in a vehicle}, the panoramic vista roof for full light viewing, an excellent audio system for playing our favorite Christmas tunes, and a touch screen navigation system so we could track down all the best houses in our area!

With all the space available, the kids still packed into the second row {heated seats, remember?} but even with three across, there was ample wiggle and leg room and not one bit of fighting {wink}.

We saw some amazing displays this year, including lights that looked like they were dripping from the trees, the biggest inflatables I’ve ever seen, beautiful window displays like something you’d see in a department store …
