Poolside Seating {and a Giveaway}

This colorful post was sponsored by Mohawk Home.

I’m so excited to share the new, colorful sitting area by my pool with you!  Phil and I are loving this updated space.  Just sitting out there makes me feel happy and relaxed.

new poolside sitting area

This area used to look like the picture below.  Dull weathered wicker chairs with peeling paint and faded pillows.  Not very inviting.  Definitely not a place I wanted to sit while I watched the kids swim.

old sitting area

My poolside seating makeover started with this gorgeous indoor/outdoor rug from Mohawk Home.  I first fell in love with it on instagram and I was so excited when Mohawk Home offered to send me one.

I love the vivid colors …

… and the fun design.  And it’s so soft under my bare feet!

I added a couple of adirondack-style bright red plastic chairs {perfect for wet swimmers} …

… and a fun little table.

This table is such a quick and simple project and I think it looks adorable.  You can find a full tutorial here.

I love this new spot!  I’ve been sitting out there every day, reading magazines, sipping iced coffee, and watching the kids swim.

And guess what?

    On my front porch! It’s a covered porch that tends to be filled with spider webs because it’s unattractive, so we don’t use it often. A new rug would spruce it up & encourage us to go out there! 🙂

    How do you get the paint not to get on any of the other surfaces of the pot? I bought a can of rust oleum spray paint do I need to tape areas off to get clean lines like yours? By the way, love it!

      You do need to tape it off. And I used brushed-on paint, not spray paint. I’m going to post a full tutorial in the next week so be sure to check back for all the details.
