I did a little Silhouette experimenting yesterday so I thankfully have something to post while I deal with the aftermath of a bad egg salad sandwich.  {I may never eat eggs again.}

I recently had the opportunity to try the new Silhouette interfacing {hooray!}.  There are two kinds of interfacing which now allow the Silhouette to cut fabric.  This machine just keeps getting better and better.

Lots of little ones have been born into my circle of friends and family and I decided to do some simple embellishments for gifts.  I bought cute dresses at Target and embellished them with fabric monograms.

For those that don’t know, the new interfacing is ironed on to the back of the fabric and then the fabric is run through the Silhouette, cutting your image or letter of choice.  I was pleasantly surprised by how cleanly it cut through.

The interfacing I used is meant to be sewn after so I ran a stitch around the edges or through the letter if the font was thin.

Aren’t those simple and fun?  I love that the Silhouette can now cut fabric … a major selling point for an already great machine!

I’ve started truncating my posts … please pop over to my blog to read the rest!
