Map Decor for the Gameroom

My new map decor is part of a review for Bigstock.

My kids are all getting older and that means that our decor is also changing a bit.  While our gameroom still sees a lot of playtime, I’ve decided to start changing a few things to make it a bit more appealing to the whole family.  The first big change was to add some map decor to the gameroom.  I love the look of maps and I like that this artwork might also help my little ones with their geography lessons.

Changing up the artwork in a room is such an easy {and often inexpensive} way to add a whole new look and give a room a fun update.  Replacing our vintage carnival posters and game boards with this typographical art from Bigstock instantly gave new life to our gameroom.  {And you can make a fun change too … keep reading for the chance to win your own poster!}

In addition to our new artwork, I thought it would be fun to use the map as inspiration …

texas

… for a fun state pillow.

state pillow

I used a dropcloth from the hardware store and sewed an envelope-style pillow cover …

… then used my cutting machine to cut the state of Texas and the letters.

stitched applique on pillow

I fused it onto the pillow and stitched it around the edges.

I love the way it looks against our vintage IKEA striped couch.

    I would love to get the same poster of the USA that you have. I looked on their site but couldn’t find it. What is it called?

      It’s actually not a Bigstock link but rather an art.com link: http://www.art.com/products/p13885065628-sa-i8776345/michael-usa-modern-blue.htm?upi=ap8776345_pc0_fi0_sv6_it1_vrv1. You wouldn’t be able to download the image from Bigstock but you could order a copy. And Bigstock has agreed to let that be one of the options for winning!
