This stained color-blocked basket was created as part of a sponsored video for Minwax.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Stain has a come a long way from the days of a brown liquid in a can!  No longer is stain only used for fences and decks but now it’s entered the craft and DIY world as well and the variety of products available are awesome!  I created a stained color-blocked basket using Express Color Wiping Stain and Finish from  and the whole project took less than ten minutes {minus drying time}!

This stain is great for wood but it also adheres perfectly to a basket, adding this gorgeous indigo color with just one stroke.

Take a peek at this quick video to get the full how-to for this color-blocked basket and to learn a little more about some of the other great stain products offered by Minwax.

Are you feeling inspired?  What would you use stain for?

I love baskets! The pained ones are so expensive, I love the idea of being able to create my own for less. So fun!
