Lucky Penny Soap with Printable

Did you see the shamrock soap I made earlier this week?  While I was making that soap, I decided to make lucky penny soap as well!  It can be gifted with the same printable I made for the shamrock soap and given to your favorite leprechaun … or someone that needs a bit of extra luck this St. Patrick’s Day!  Maybe this soap can even act as a little extra incentive for kids to wash … just to get the penny out as the soap gets smaller {wink}!

To make lucky penny soap, you’ll need to head to the craft store or look online to find small soap molds and clear soap base.  You’ll also need one penny for each bar of soap so rifle through your change purse or the kids’ piggy banks.

Melt the soap base according to package instructions then pour it into the soap molds, filling them no more than halfway.

Let the soap set a bit than add the penny and cover over it with more melted soap base, filling the mold completely and covering the penny.  If the soap hasn’t set much, the penny will sink to the bottom of the mold but don’t worry … it will still be embedded in the soap when it sets.

Let the soap set completely then carefully pop it out of the mold by pushing on the back center of the mold.

The penny will be floating in the middle of the soap just waiting to unleash its luck.

For a twist, you could use a large {fake} gold coin from the craft or party store.

If you want to gift the soap to a friend or classmate, grab this punny printable to use as a tag.

Click on the link below and print it out on your home computer then cut the paper down into individual tags.

Package the soap in a clear cellophane bag and use a piece of ribbon or tulle to attach the tag.

It makes a fun surprise for a friend on St. Patrick’s Day!
