While I don’t knit as much as I used to, or even as much as I’d like to, I can’t resist fabulous yarn and a quick project. This knit seed stitch infinity scarf is simple {even for a beginning knitter} and it’s a perfect winter project to knit and to wear! And, if you work on it more frequently than I did, you can have it whipped up in no time!
I used Isaac Mizrahi’s craft yarn because I love the chunky feel and the metallic flecks but any thick yarn would work perfectly.
Using the needle size recommended on the yarn wrapping, cast on 18 stitches {you may want a few more or a few less depending on the bulk of the yarn} and knit each row in seed stitch: P1, K1 and reverse it on the next row so that each row alternates.
I love the look of seed stitch and it looks the same from both sides, making it the perfect stitch for a scarf that will loop and have the wrong side exposed.
I used two skeins of yarn to complete this scarf and once I cast off, I used extra yarn to stitch the ends together and then wove in loose ends.
The completed scarf is a continuous loop long enough to fit twice around the neck.
I love the bulk of it and the sheen from the metallic flecks adds a fun touch of color.
What have you knit or crocheted lately?
What a beautiful scarf! My mother in law taught my daughter how to knit…I am going to share this with her! Pinning and sharing this!
Very pretty!
This is lovely! I am working on a crochet knit look cowl, hope to post soon.
That’s beautiful yarn! I am craving to pick up my needles, but it’s been so busy lately!
