Who’s in the mood for some holiday inspiration? I’ve joined with a group of my favorite bloggers to bring you holiday decorating ideas for the whole house! From mantels to tablescapes to trees to recipes, we’ve got it all and you can check out every idea by clicking the links found at the bottom of this post. But first, let me show you my newest Christmas tree! If I could have a Christmas tree in every room of my house, I would. I love the festive touch a decorated tree brings to a space and the way it just makes it feel like Christmas! This year, since we spend so much time in our kitchen and gathering room, I thought it would be fun to set up a little kitchen cookie cutter Christmas tree on the window seat. I kept the tree simple but added a few whimsical touches to give it a splash of character and the result is just right for the kitchen.
I scored a small, artificial tree on Black Friday, just the right size for the kitchen. I didn’t want it to be overpowering but I still wanted it to stand out in its space.
I bought a set of large plastic stirring spoons at the dollar store and used them to create an upcycled star tree topper. I simply used my circular saw to cut four of the spoons at an angle and hot glued them on to one long spoon.
Cutting the spoons at the right angle is easier than it sounds. Once you’ve cut the first one, you can hold it against the others to get the same angle – cut one more with the spoon in the same direction and cut two with the spoons turned upside down.
Once the hot glue was dry, I wrapped craft wire around the center and used the ends to tie the tree topper to the top branch.
Because I planned to decorate the tree with cookie cutters, I decided to add a text garland to tie in the theme.
Using white glitter cardstock, I cut the letters on my Cricut Maker and spelled out “dashing through the dough” instead of dashing through the snow. My kids are hoping to be dashing through a whole lot of cookie dough this holiday season {wink}!
I hot glued the letters onto twine and strung the garlands across the tree, wrapping the ends of the twine around branches.
Then I dug through my gigantic cookie cutter stash and found Christmas-themed metal cookie cutters.
I attached a piece of chunky ribbon to each one and hung them on the tree.
For the finishing touch, I placed the decorated tree inside a vintage enamelware pot. The vintage theme fits well in my kitchen and I love the red rim and the wooden handle on the bucket.
I’m loving our kitchen Christmas tree …
… and the festive feeling that it adds to this space!

Dashing through the Dough; what an adorable idea for a Kitchen tree! I have a Christmas tree every year, because it’s the room I spend the most time in, and I just have to have the twinkling lights on dark winter nights. Fun to hop with you!
