A good movie plus delicious, healthy snacks plus family and friends equals the perfect recipe for fun.  This weekend we got our jungle on with The Jungle Book movie and some #JungleFresh snacks!

On a recent trip to Walmart, I picked up the newly released Diamond Edition of The Jungle Book.  Right now, the Diamond Edition is available exclusively at Walmart and includes a themed lunch box {there’s been a lot of negotiating with my younger kids over who should get it!}.

The Jungle Book was one of my husband’s favorite movies when he was young and we were all really looking forward to seeing it again.  Just looking at the cover makes me start humming The Bare Necessities.  {You’re humming it too, aren’t you?}

While at Walmart, I also picked up some healthy #JungleFresh ingredients in the produce section.  I knew that if I made it fun, my kids would be perfectly happy snacking on veggies during the movie.

While the kids got the show started, I set up a few jungle-themed snacks among the palm trees {these simple decorations were made with paper towel rolls and crepe paper party streamers}.  The kids loved the jungle scene I made with veggies and dip!

I covered a large platter with storebought ranch dip and spread it evenly with a spatula then added some jungle details with vegetables.  I used celery stalks and broccoli florets to make trees …

… and carrot and green pepper flowers.

I set a plate of extra vegetables next to it so the kids could really fill up on healthy snacks.

The kids loved the jungle scene and were so excited to dig in!

I also set out paper bags filled with popcorn …

…. and palm tree cups filled with jungle juice {which was really just ice water}.

The kids filled their plates with snacks, found a spot on the couch {on top of each other, apparently} …

… and we laughed and enjoyed Mowgli.
