Jack O’Lantern Koolaid Slushies

We’re in the mood for a little fall fun around here but since our Texas weather isn’t cooperating with the calendar, I made the kids a warm weather fall treat: orange jack o’lantern koolaid slushies.  A little vinyl on clear disposable glasses makes this fall treat a bit more fun but the koolaid slush alone is delicious if you don’t have time for the crafty side of things!

koolaid slushies

I mixed up a batch of koolaid slushies {one of our favorite cool-down treats}.  The recipe is simple.  In a blender, combine one package of koolaid {any flavor}, 1/2 cup sugar, 2 cups cold water, and 2-3 cups ice {start with 2 cups of ice and keep adding more until you get the slushy consistency you want}.  If you like your slushies a little sweeter, add more sugar until you get the sweetness you desire.

These refreshing drinks are tart and delicious but even more fun when served in festive jack o’lantern cups.  And the cups couldn’t be easier to make.

Take a clear plastic disposable cup {you could use a non-disposable cup if you want} and, using a cutting machine, cut a jack o’lantern face from black adhesive vinyl.  If you don’t have a cutting machine, you could also draw a face onto the cup with a black Sharpie.

… and you’ve got a delicious drink that’ll get you in the harvest mood!  It’s the perfect way to cool off when the weather won’t cooperate with the calendar!
