This morning we hosted our House Party. It was so fun! Thirty-one kids converged on the backyard … it really felt like a great summer party.
I used sidewalk chalk to point everyone to the backyard {I wish I could remember where I saw this idea … I love it} …
… and then had all the kids sign their names on the guest board. It was so cute seeing all the little signatures. My favorite? The one written completely backwards. Kids are awesome.
I served simple party food {popsicles to cool us all off in the hot Texas sun} and tried to keep everything bright to match the markers. I used some fun dry erase labels {from Pick Your Plum} to mark the food containers. How fun are neon goldfish? Have you tried them yet?
The kids had a soccer ball relay {we kept score on little dry erase boards that came in our party pack} and played Pictionary {also on the boards}. And then they just milled around, doing what kids do. Eating. Climbing fences. Playing in the playhouse. Having fun.
There were always kids {big and little} at the doodle station. It was a popular spot. The kids commented on the fun, bright colors of the markers and they wiped off the boards so easily.
When the kids left, each family took home a goodie bag filled with two packages of markers {in two different sizes}, a brush, and a dry erase board.
I seriously loved hosting a House Party … what a great way to see friends and have some summer fun and it was so easy! I hope all my guests had as much fun as I did.

What a great party! It looks like everyone had fun. Wish we could have been there and I’m already looking forward to hearing about your other parties (when you have them).
We all had a GREAT time — thanks for having us! Gracie commandeered the goodie bag and is still enjoying the markers. Can’t wait until the next party!
Such a FUN time! Loved seeing all the kids hanging around, playing, creating. Of course, Ian and Emma loved doodling. You are the greatest hostess ever!
