Homemade Valentines :: Owl Be Your Valentine

Today I’m sharing Lila’s homemade owl valentines.  Lila {who is six years old and never online} is certain she came up with this idea herself, including the “owl be your valentine” tag line.  I don’t have the heart to tell her that owls are really popular and something like this has probably been done before.

Let me tell you how I made them.  I made my own owl template and then used it to cut body pieces and wings out of coordinating scrapbook paper.  We used a small heart punch for the beak …

… and printed “OWL be your friend” on regular computer paper then punched it out with a circle punch.

Lila used her glue stick to piece them all together …

… and I attached the candy eyes with a dab of hot glue.

Lila signed all her valentines …

… and she’s ready for her class party on Thursday!

She did such a great job gluing everything on, didn’t she?
