There’s not much cuter in this world than a new puppy, is there?  They bring so much fun and joy to a home … and a bit of work as well, if we’re perfectly honest.  A new puppy gift basket is a great way to celebrate a friend or family member’s new dog by providing them with a few necessities … and homemade pumpkin dog biscuits will ensure you and that little pup are besties for life!

While I was shopping at Target last week, I walked through the cleaning aisle and bought a bottle of STAINMASTER® Carpet Pet Stain Remover.  Even if you don’t have a new puppy, this is a great product to keep in your cleaning closet for those days when things don’t go just like they’re supposed to.

I also grabbed some metal bowls and a few little toys to put together a little welcome basket for this new pup …

… and made sure I had the three ingredients needed to bake a batch of these easy pumpkin dog biscuits.  My dog loves homemade biscuits!

{As with any recipe for your pet, check with your vet before introducing any food into your pet’s diet.}

To make a batch, you’ll need two eggs, 2 1/2 cups of flour, and 3/4 cup pumpkin puree {not pumpkin pie filling}.

Mix the ingredients together in a bowl.  If the dough is sticky, sprinkle in a little more flour until it reaches a fairly dry consistency then roll it out on a floured surface to 1/4 inch thickness.

Cut with a bone-shaped cookie cutter or another fun shape.

Bake at 350 degrees on a greased cookie sheet for 20 minutes or until the cookies are somewhat hardened.

Let the cookies cool completely.

While they’re cooling, you can gather the other items for your basket.

New puppies might be cute but they can make some pretty big messes too.  Besides the obvious puppy accidents, fall means mud and leaves getting tracked in on puppy feet.

STAINMASTER Carpet Pet Stain Remover doesn’t just clean the stains, it protects from future stains too!  I hate to spray certain cleaners on my rug because they often leave behind a sticky residue that just seems to attract more dirt.  But not STAINMASTER Carpet Pet Stain Remover!  It has breakthrough technology that cleans on contact and then repels dirt so your carpet stays looking newer longer.

STAINMASTER Carpet Pet Stain Remover lifts away pet stains and gets rid of odors but it’s also perfect for using on everyday stains like coffee, grape juice, chocolate, and ketchup!  It’s just the thing for those pet stains AND the kid stains {wink}!

In addition to the Carpet Pet Stain Remover and a couple of toys, bowls are a great gift idea and they’re the perfect way to package a new puppy gift basket.  I used my Cricut Maker to add red vinyl text to differentiate the food and water bowls.

DIY personalized dog dishes

Once the dog biscuits were cool, I packaged them in a cellophane bag with a ribbon and placed all the items in the stacked dog bowls.  The new puppy will love the pumpkin dog biscuits and its owners will appreciate the help with carpet stains!

That is so cool! That’s something that is just a hair away from being a human treat, so I know my dogs will love these. They LOVE table food. LOL

Those look good enough to eat for me. I know my dog would love them. I have never tried to make treats for my dog but this looks easy and it’s probably cheaper than what I get at the store.

Oh my gosh, these look so yummy! My dog would love these. I have the perfect bone shape cookie cutter to use, too. I love that it has pumpkin in it. What a nice way to embrace fall for our pets! #client

I can’t tell you how many rugs I have thrown out over the years, when I should have gotten that Stainmaster. You are the best dog lover to make biscuits from scratch and I thought I was good.

This is a great gift idea for new puppies! I love the thoughtfulness of making the dog biscuits yourself. Gifts like that are always more personal.
