Grilled Cheese April Fool’s Day Prank

For years, I’ve tried to trick the kids on April Fool’s Day and they look forward to it for at least a month in advance.  This year, I tried a grilled cheese April Fool’s Day prank and the kids loved it.

When the day started, the kids seemed a bit disappointed, wondering if I had forgotten that it was April Fool’s Day since nothing surfaced at breakfast {last year I froze their cereal and milk in a bowl}. I tricked them today at lunch with pound-cake-and-icing grilled cheese sandwiches. They truly fell for it, commenting on the strange color of the cheese and the sweet taste of the bread … it took Elijah a few bites before he realized this was today’s April Fool’s Day trick!

I love being able to trick the kids but I also love creating fun memories for our family.  Are you pulling any pranks this April Fool’s Day?
