Freakshake Style Extreme Smoothie

Have you seen the freakshake trend, the extreme milkshakes that are more like a meal with loads of sweet treats piled on top?  I decided it would be fun to make a healthy version: a freakshake style extreme smoothie that won’t mess up those health-conscious resolutions some of us made this year!  You can customize this any way you want, adding your favorite fruit to the top, and making it as elaborate as you like.  Have fun with it!

You can use my smoothie recipe or your favorite for this recipe.

For my recipe, you’ll need

1 cup chopped fresh pineapple

1 cup orange juice

1 cup carrot juice

1/2-1 cup vanilla yogurt {the amount you use depends on how creamy you like your smoothie} and

crushed ice.

These measurements will make 2-4 smoothies, depending on the glass size.

You’ll also need a variety of fruit to decorate the top of the smoothie.  Pineapple, oranges, limes, star fruit, grapes, bananas, raspberries, and blueberries are my favorites.

Place the smoothie ingredients in a blender and mix until well blended, adding as much crushed ice as you need to get the consistency you like.

Pour the smoothie into a glass.

You can even set smaller fruit, like blueberries, right on top of the other fruit.

That’s it!  Sit back and sip your smoothie, eat the fruit skewers, and enjoy your freakshake style extreme smoothie!

Randi, that looks delicious and at the same time looks like a piece of art. Thanks for sharing at Funtastic Friday.
