Fabric Treadmill Tablet Holder

I love listening to music on my tablet while I’m using the treadmill but I hate having to hold onto the tablet.  Inspired by this, I decided to sew a fabric treadmill tablet holder.  This is such a quick and simple project, perfect for a beginner sewer.

To make your own treadmill tablet holder, gather a few coordinating fabrics from your stash.  This is a great way to use some scraps since you don’t need large pieces.

Since all treadmills are different, you’ll need to measure yours and cut pieces accordingly.  I cut five squares that were five inches in length and six inches wide, then cut a long backing piece that was also six inches wide.  Be sure to allow a little extra to cover the seam allowance.

Stitch the smaller pieces together to form a strip then, with right sides together, stitch the backing to the pieced front along three sides.  {Once I had my smaller pieces all stitched together, I trimmed the length of the backing piece to match the front.  That’s the lazy way to avoid figuring out seam allowances … wink.}

Stitch the final end seam either by hand or by machine and add a long strip of velcro to each end.

That’s it!  So simple and so quick to sew together and it works like a charm!  This treadmill tablet holder keeps my tablet intact even when I’m running.  Now I have no excuse not to work out!
