This Elena of Avalor layered drink recipe was created as part of a sponsored post for Disney Junior. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
We had so much fun attending a Disney Junior Elena of Avalor party recently and it got me in the mood to create a fun Elena of Avalor layered drink recipe for my girls to sip while they watch one of our favorite FRiYAY morning shows on Disney Channel! I like to encourage my kids to watch shows that embrace the character values that are important to us so we turned our TV time into something a bit more festive! Check out how easy this drink is and be sure to keep reading for more fun Elena of Avalor party ideas.
All princesses, even pretend ones, should sip from gold-rimmed glasses, right? To make these sparkly glasses, melt white candy melt, dip the rims of disposable cups into it, then dip them into gold edible glitter and let them set.
Once the edge is hard, creating the layered drink is super easy. The key to a layered drink is making sure you have two or more beverages with different amounts of sugar. The varying densities will create the layers. For this drink, you’ll want red and blue beverages to match Elena and her jewels.
Fill the cup with ice …
… then fill the glass half full with the drink with the most sugar.
Slowly pour the other beverage over top, pouring it onto the back of a spoon to keep it from going in too quickly and mixing with the bottom layer.
Add a lollipop garnish or a cute patterned straw and you’re all set for a fun morning of viewing your favorite princess!
My girls loved this fun drink … and who doesn’t love Elena of Avalor? I’m such a fan of the way Disney Junior shows promote character and culture. I love that my kiddos can be entertained while also gleaning valuable life lessons and skills and learning something about people of other cultures.
Are you thinking about hosting an Elena of Avalor party or playdate this summer? Check out these other awesome ideas from the party we attended!
Fill balloons with confetti or simply place large groups of balloons all over to create ambience and fill the room with color. Elena’s rich Hispanic heritage is full of color!
Tie ribbons to embroidery hoops to create decor over the table …
… and use tissue paper flowers and streamers to decorate walls …
… mantels …
… and central party areas. You can make your own tissue paper flowers with tutorials found online or buy kits to whip them up quickly and easily.
Balloon turrets are a great way to mark an entrance or create a focal point.
Colorful maracas and large leaves {real or fake} make a great centerpiece.
And incorporating toys into the decor is a great way to decorate as well.
Plan a few simple crafts, like decorating maracas …
… and serve themed treats, of course.
A churro bar is the perfect snack for an Elena party! Add your favorite dipping sauces and you have a treat that everyone will love!
And when it’s all over? Guests can leave with papel picado goody bags for a fun ending to the party!
