I live in Texas so summers are hot, hot, hot, and cold drinks are a must. You know how much southerners love their sweet tea but I actually like a drink that’s not so sweet. I want something cold and refreshing without all the extra calories and this easy sparkling tea recipe, based on a drink my daughter recently tried at a coffee shop, is a new favorite! With just a few ingredients, it can be made quickly and it’s the perfect way to cool off on the porch on those hot, muggy days!
To make sparkling tea, you’ll need one large family size tea bag {or a couple of smaller ones}, La Croix in any flavor you want {we love this with mango but lemon, lime, or even coconut would be delicious}, and a lemon or lime.
{Ingredient measurements and full instructions can be found in the printable recipe card further down in this post.}
You can serve this drink in a plain cup with ice but if you want something a little fancier, cut two thin lemon or lime slices, tuck them against the side of the glass, and add a few ice cubes in the center to hold them in place.
The slices will float up a bit when you add the liquids but it looks really pretty and turns a plain glass into something a bit fancier.
Pour strong brewed tea over the ice …
… add some La Croix and a squeeze of lemon or lime …
… and you have a quick and easy twist on the standard iced tea recipe.
It’s a refreshing way to survive summer … and a delicious one too!

For another delicious drink idea for summer, be sure to try this coconut mint spritzer, one of my favorites. The blend of coconut and muddled mint is a total win and the perfect summer drink for a party!
