I love color and I love pattern.  Bright, bold, vivid … it all makes me so happy and I love to incorporate color and pattern into my home decor and, really, into every aspect of my life.  I’m smitten with Marimekko {and even moreso after seeing all the amazing new items at Target} and I love some of the DIY Marimekko projects I’ve seen popping up on social media and on pinterest.  I’m ready to break out the fabric, the paints, or both, and tackle some of these incredible projects!  Click on the links below to see all the details of your favorites!

DIY marimekko projects

Sew a black and white laundry tote from gorgeous printed fabric.

DIY a yellow floral dish set.  No one will know it’s not an original!

Decorate your home with black and white napkin-clad candles.

Step out in style with painted floral tennis shoes.

Cover the kitchen table with a simple stitched fabric tablecloth.

Arrange your flowers in a beautiful and vibrant painted floral mason jar.

Ditch the carpet and make wallpaper stairs in your home!

Serve a stunning Marimekko-inspired orange poppy seed cake!

Make a simple but fabulous decoupaged side table for your favorite room.

Sip your morning coffee from DIY sharpie mugs.

Snack on these unbelievable Marimekko floral macarons.  Aren’t they incredible?

Grow herbs this summer in stitched herb bags.

And welcome guests to your home with a modern wreath made from a pool noodle.

Aren’t those ideas all just incredible?  Which one is your favorite?  Have you got your own Marimekko projects?  I’d love to see it!  Share a photo on the Dukes and Duchesses facebook page!

Thanks for featuring my Marimekko Shoes and stairs in your great round-up. I just adore Marimekko and have also made a Marimekko Bench and Giant Cactus which I have posted to your facebook page.
