10 DIY Bar Cart Projects

I’m completely smitten with bar carts lately.  I don’t own one {yet} but I’ve thought about making a DIY bar cart or repurposing an ordinary piece of furniture into a neat and unique bar cart.  These DIY bar cart projects have inspired me to think outside the box and get creating a multi-functional cart for my home.  Perfect for entertaining inside or out, I’m sure it would be a project I’d use a lot!

10 DIY bar cart projects

Build a bar cart for outdoor grilling and entertaining.  This one has a built-in ice chest which makes it perfect for summer parties.

A rustic DIY bar cart is perfect for indoor parties and it makes a fabulous coffee cart {which is probably how my cart would get used much of the time!}.

I love the industrial style and this pipe and wood rustic bar cart is a really great look for any style.  I’d love to add some casters to the bottom so it can be moved around but the look is clean and simple.

Repurposing an item into a bar cart is such a great idea and this microwave cart repurposed into a bar cart is brilliant.  Microwave carts were so popular in the 80’s and 90’s and thrift stores are probably full of them.  With just a bit of work and updating, an outdated cart could be turned into some fabulous updated decor.

Are your baby days over?  A changing table becomes fabulous when repurposed into a bar cart.  What a great way to alter furniture that’s no longer needed.

An IKEA laptop table makes a great bar cart and it won’t break the bank either.  I’m sure IKEA is full of items that could be turned into multi-purpose carts.

A DIY industrial bar cart can take many styles and while this one is similar to the one above, it has a few different ideas that make it really great!

I love a good repurposed project and this idea is so brilliant.  An old director’s chair got new life as a bar cart and you’d never know that it started as a chair!

If you love a good building project, the plans for this DIY wood bar cart are simple but the final product is beautiful.  You could stain it for a natural look or paint it if you prefer a pop of color but either way, the clean lines are perfect.

And finally, grab an old bookcase and repurpose it into a bar cart for a super simple project that can be customized any way you want.  Paint, add wallpaper or even pieces of mirror to the back for a touch of modern, or add some casters for a wheeling cart.

Are you inspired to DIY a bar cart?  I know I am!
