DIY After Shave Lotion

This DIY after shave lotion was created as part of a sponsored post in the #ShaveStudio35 campaign, sponsored by Studio 35 at Walgreens.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

My oldest son just went off to college and I’m already thinking about fun care packages to send him to replenish his dorm room supplies.  A shaving kit with razors, cartridge refills, and DIY after shave lotion is perfect for a practical, pampering package!

I went to Walgreens and stocked up on Studio 35® razors and three-blade cartridge refills with lubricating gel, designed for less irritation.  Through the month of August, the cartridges are buy one, get one 50% off so it made sense to stock up.

The great thing about Studio 35 cartridges is they fit the Gillette® Mach3® razor handles and provide a shave that’s as good or better than the Mach3®.  When you buy Studio 35 refill cartridges during Walgreens’ September $9.99 promotion, you’ll save $4.00 compared to the Mach3® so you know it’s a great time to trade up to Studio 35 products.

The Studio 35 razor cartridges are an affordable and convenient option for a high-quality shave … and perfect for a college student!  The lubricating reservoir releases conditioning lubrication as you shave, providing excellent glide and hydration.  Patented blade guards welded to each blade protect the skin, providing an extra point of contact and helping to prevent the skin from bulging in between the blades.  The blade guards create a flatter, smoother surface to shave.

To make this DIY after-shave lotion to go with the razors and cartridges, you’ll need 1/2 cup shea butter, 2 tablespoons apricot oil, and 1 teaspoon liquid {topical} vitamin E.

Using a hand mixer or bowl mixer, whip the ingredients together {I like to use the whisk attachment on my hand mixer} until they’re completely combined.  Add a scent, if desired, with a few drops of essential oils, or leave as is.

Store in a small airtight container.  This DIY after-shave face lotion is the perfect addition to the shaving kit!

For even greater savings on Studio 35 products, order Studio 35 cartridges online and take advantage of Walgreens’ convenient Auto-Reorder & Save program.  With Auto-Reorder & Save, you can choose to have razors sent to your house {or your kid’s dorm!} at intervals of your choice {30, 60, 90 days, etc} saving 10% off your order and receiving free shipping starting on your second delivery.

If you want your shot at winning a shave kit of your own, join us for the #ShaveStudio35 twitter party from 8-9 EST on September 8th, 2016, where we’ll be giving away three great prize packs.  You can also follow along on the #ShaveStudio35 Pinterest Board for more men’s grooming and styling inspiration!
