Do you love receiving beautifully wrapped gifts? There’s something so special about a present that’s as beautiful on the outside as it is on the inside! These creative gift wrap ideas are all so simple but they make a gift festive and fun and perfectly pretty under the Christmas tree!
To craft these creative gift wrap ideas, wander through the aisles of Hobby Lobby for all the supplies. Hobby Lobby has such an incredible assortment of gift wrap, tins and boxes, and fun embellishments that really make a present pop! Think outside the box to find items that weren’t intended for gift wrap but will add a creative element to the top of the gift.
Let me show you how simple these gift wrap ideas are!
1. Ribbon Topped Gift Bag or Goody Bag
This idea can be altered in so many fun ways and the versatility makes it really unique.
You’ll need paper gift bags {patterned or plain}, a hole punch, tulle or ribbon, and decorative holiday pencils.
Fold over the top of the bag and punch two holes in the top center …
… thread a piece of red tulle through the holes, and tie the tulle into a big bow!
You can also punch four holes instead of two and weave a piece of ribbon or tulle through the holes for an entirely different but stylish look.
And for the kids, punch holes near the ends of the bag top and poke a pencil through the holes. The pencil keeps the bag closed but serves as a fun little treat too! This idea is perfect for class goody bags or party favors.
2. Santa Suit Gift Wrap
You can’t go wrong with the classic Santa suit at Christmas! To create this idea, you’ll need plain red wrapping paper, wide black grosgrain ribbon, a strip of fur fabric or ribbon, and a buckle. {Hit up the fabric department at Hobby Lobby for the notions.}
Wrap the box in red wrapping paper …
… use hot glue to attach a strip of fur down the middle of the box …
… then thread the ribbon through the buckle and hot glue it onto the gift.
This gift wrap idea takes just minutes but kids and adults alike will love this Santa suit present!
3. Rustic Christmas Tree Gift Wrap
This idea is my favorite but I have to admit, I’m a bit partial to the rustic, textured look and I love using natural elements to create and decorate.
To create this look, you’ll need gift wrap, a bag of twigs, a wooden star, and ball embellishments from the floral department.
Using a saw, cut the twig pieces into varying lengths to form a tree shape …
… and cut the small balls off the floral embellishment.
Wrap the gift …
… then use hot glue to attach the twig pieces in a Christmas tree shape on the center of the gift. Top the tree with the wooden star …
… and glue the small ornaments onto the twigs.
This rustic gift is so pretty and perfect for a farmhouse style Christmas!
Whether you drape your gifts in garland, attach a favorite ornament to the top, or top them with lots and lots of ribbon, give a gift this year that’s as pretty on the outside as it is special on the inside!
