If you’ve followed this blog for any time at all, you know that I love coffee. Like passionately love it. And I have a new way of drinking it that’s so easy and so good: creamy maple coffee. It mimics one of my favorite drinks at a local coffee shop and I love it. The slightly sweet taste blends perfectly with the strong coffee flavor to create a delicious drink that’s perfect hot or cold.
Start with a cup of strong brewed coffee. I always use a dark roast but your favorite coffee will work perfectly. The stronger, the better for me, but brew yours the way you like it. If you brew your coffee weak, you may want to decrease the other ingredients slightly to avoid a super sweet drink.
Stir in 1 1/2 tablespoons pure maple syrup {make sure you use real maple syrup and not processed pancake syrup} and 1 or 1 1/2 tablespoons heavy cream. Half and half would work fine too.
Stir to blend the flavors and enjoy a hot cup of creamy maple coffee.
This coffee is also delicious as an iced beverage {perfect for a summer afternoon pick-me-up}. Mix the ingredients as described above then pour over a glass full of ice …
… and stir well to cool the coffee. Add a cute paper straw {of course} and sip away.
