I’m three for three … I baked homemade cookies again this month! This time I even invented a recipe … that has to count for something, right?
Eli doesn’t think this cookie should count since it has oatmeal and is healthy. I didn’t bother telling him what else is in the cookie … I don’t think he’d like the thought of baby food in his snack.
Yep, I baked cookies using baby food and baby cereal.
You all know that I’m one of Earth’s Best Bloggers. One of the perks is that Earth’s Best sends me samples of Earth’s Best products so I can try them and share my reviews with you. They even send me samples of baby food. I usually pass them on to friends but this time I decided to use some of it to bake with.
And ta-da, there you have it: Oatmeal Banana Cookies made with baby cereal and pureed baby food.
This cookie is soft and reminds me of a breakfast cookie. I’d think nothing of letting my kids eat them in the morning. Plus, with my baby cereal and baby food additions, they now have whole grains, added iron, zinc, and vitamins A, C, and E. Not bad for a cookie, huh?
Here’s the recipe.

I tried to enter but I couldn’t figure out how to put in my kids ages.
Great idea for the cookies. I bet the same thing could be done with muffins and the instead of butter, oil and it could be reduced to almost nothing with the baby food. Fabulous idea!

You just need to leave it here … no problem though … I’ll get the info from you if you win.
You’re right … it would be great in muffins. These actually have kind of a muffin consistency.

Yummo! And a product I have in my pantry!
The cookies look delicious, and I am all about trying to give my kids homemade desserts. It’s tough to keep to it, but good for you!
I’m way behind on my blog reading, but I look forward to catching up with you.
