Celebrating a Lost Tooth

Remember a few months ago when Lila lost her first tooth?  Well, this weekend it was Luke’s turn.

That tooth was hanging on by a string and Grandma couldn’t wait to get her hands on it.  Luke gladly opened up and let her yank it right out.  Confession: wiggling loose teeth grosses me out.  Pulling them?  Forget it.

If I didn’t have people watching me, I would have bawled.  What is it about losing that first tooth?  It’s such a big step in childhood and it gets to me every time.

Luke was so excited to finally lose a tooth!

We always celebrate the first lost tooth with a treat and I was so glad my friend, Jenny, suggested tooth-shaped krispies.  After making a tooth-shaped cake, tooth-shaped cookies, and tooth-shaped lollipops, I’m running out of ideas!

Only one more “first lost tooth” to go and this stage of my life will be over … and that’ll be sad all in itself.  I’m so glad Tate isn’t anywhere near wiggly teeth yet!
