April Fool’s Day Tricks

It’s getting harder and harder to trick my family with April Fool’s Day tricks {especially the older kids who have become a little too wise to the pranks} but in the name of tradition, I had to attempt to pull out a few April Fool’s Day tricks today.

The kids were given a special treat this morning … Kool-Aid for breakfast!  The older kids didn’t fall for it but the twins were thrilled about this change in the normal routine and couldn’t wait to start the day with a sweet drink!

The Kool-Aid turned out to be orange Jello, solid with straws stuck in it before it solidified, and the twins thought that was pretty funny.

I pulled my best April Fool’s Day prank yesterday … a day early, which may seem unfair, but had I waited until today Phil would have been on to me right away.  Phil often travels for work and was recently in L.A. so when Prudent Baby posted about this parking violation prank, I knew it was the perfect way to really get him.  Phil stared at the ticket for a few minutes, trying to figure out how he possibly could have a parking violation from the state of California.

I finally put an end to the puzzle and told him to read the fine print at the bottom of the ticket.  Gotcha!  I may have done a little victory dance at being able to pull off this prank {smile}!

In case you think I escaped the silly pranks, I drank coffee with black tinted creamer this morning, thanks to my older kids.  No one is safe in this family on April Fool’s Day!
