An Oatmeal Bar

After some super warm weather, the weekend cooled off quite a bit.  The wind was blowing hard and warm oatmeal seemed like the perfect way to start the day.

Earth’s Best Instant Oatmeal is convenient and nutritious, two things that don’t always go hand in hand.  It contains 30 grams of whole grains per serving and has no artificial flavors or colors.  Even better, it’s an excellent source of iron, zinc, and vitamin B.

Unfortunately, my kids don’t always recognize a good thing when they see it and sometimes it takes a little creativity to fill their bellies with the good stuff.  In order to make breakfast time a bit more fun, I served a little oatmeal bar.

I served bowls of warm oatmeal and let the kids add a few toppings.

They could choose sliced bananas …

… a few mini chocolate chips …

… chopped hazelnuts …

… or a bit of brown sugar.

The kids loved it and added a little bit of everything to their bowls.

They loved making their breakfast and I loved that they started the day with a healthy, warm meal.

What do you do to make meal time fun?

In the spirit of full-disclosure, I’ve partnered with Earth’s Best as part of the “Earth’s Best Blogger” program.  Throughout the year I’ll be receiving product, coupons, giveaways, and promotions.  However, no payment was given or expected for posting about the program, and as always, all opinions given here are fully my own.

Fun meal! My kids hate instant oatmeal but I haven’t tried earths best. It’s worth a try especially for the mornings I forget to make quick oats.
