Weekends at my house are all about football. The television is tuned to a game every waking minute. College football, high school football {this is Texas, after all}, and the big leagues – my boys watch it all. And my boys love a good at-home tailgating party with delicious, filling food! Football food doesn’t have to require a lot of time or work. Let me show you how easy it is to host a little tailgating fun for your crew!
While my boys don’t really care how the food spread looks, I do. We’re cheering on a lot of different teams in our house, from the OU Sooners to the Dallas Cowboys to the Denver Broncos, so I like to skip a color scheme and just go right for the black and white of the official’s jersey.
You can create a really simple garland with any theme by clipping paper napkins to a piece of twine. I chose simple black and white but you can probably find napkins with your team name as well.
A home-gating buffet has to include lots of cold drinks and plenty of finger food… and while my boys could care less about eating veggies during the game, I like to throw them in for good measure {wink}.
What my boys really care about is having good, hearty food … and lots of it. I like to head to Walmart for Ball Park® Flame Grilled Beef Patties and Tyson® Any’tizers Boneless Wyngz in Honey BBQ flavor.
I can have a delicious food spread ready to go in no time at all which makes game day home-gating a win for all of us.
Tyson® Any’tizers Boneless Wyngz are a favorite. My guys love the flavor and I have a little trick to really bring that flavor out. I bake them in the oven according to package directions and then pop them under the broiler for a minute or two to make them a little crispy on top {watch them closely so they don’t burn}.
Along with the boneless wings, Ball Park® Flame Grilled Beef Patties are a game day must. I microwave them or bake them in the oven then serve them on hawaiian style buns …
… with some fun condiment choices. Ranch mayo and sriracha mayo are the perfect toppers! To make these toppers, mix 1/2 cup mayo in a bowl and add 1-2 tablespoons of sriracha or dry ranch mix and stir well. Add a little tag to the serving dish so everyone knows what they’re getting.
Hosting an at-home tailgating party is so simple but really makes football season fun!
What are your go-to snacks for the football game?
