Homemade Alphabet Breadsticks for Kids

Luke and Lila love to help me cook. Today we made homemade alphabet breadsticks sprinkled with cinnamon sugar.   They were not only delicious to munch on at snack time but a fun way to do a little alphabet learning and letter formation at the same time.  What’s better than a fun time with the kids and a little learning opportunity too?

Want to make some homemade breadstick letters with your kiddos too?

How to Make Alphabet Breadsticks

The recipe is simple: roll and mold refrigerated breadsticks into letters {or numbers}, brush them lightly with melted butter, and sprinkle with cinnamon sugar, as much or as little as you like. We used a powdered sugar spoon {this is one of my favorite kitchen tools and you can click that affiliate link if you want one too!} to make sprinkling easy and used a ratio of 1 tablespoon cinnamon to 2 tablespoons sugar.

Once the letters are made, place them on a greased baking sheet and bake until golden brown according to the time and temperature on the breadstick package.

Luke and Lila loved the rolling {which is why our letters are all different sizes}, the butter painting, and the “tapping” of the cinnamon sugar, but the eating was definitely the best part according to this toddler crew!

These alphabet breadsticks were really fun to make with the twins and I loved that we snuck in a little learning too!
