This olive cheese dip recipe is one of my favorite go-to appetizer recipes. It used to be reserved for Christmas {some kind of weird tradition} but I now make it a number of times a year. The ingredients sound like an unlikely combination but they meld into cheesy deliciousness. It’s quick and easy to make and there’s a good chance you’ll already have the ingredients on hand.

How to Make Easy Olive Cheese Dip
To make this easy olive and cheese appetizer, you’ll need grated sharp cheddar cheese {fine or coarse grating both work well}, chopped black olives, a finely chopped onion, mayonnaise, curry powder, garlic salt, and paprika.
{Ingredient measurements and full instructions can be found in the printable recipe card further down in this post.}
There are a lot of strong flavors in the ingredient list but trust me, they combine to make a really delicious appetizer!
To make the dip, combine the grated cheese, olives, and onion in a bowl and mix with a fork …

… then add the mayo, curry powder, paprika, and garlic salt.
Mix all the ingredients together until they’re well combined and the spices are mixed throughout.

How to Serve Olive Cheese Dip
Serve the olive cheese dip with crackers or pretzels or spread it on small slices of cocktail bread or crackers.
Serve it cold or top the crackers or bread and broil until the cheese dip is melted. {I’ve even just stuck a bowl of it in the microwave to warm it up!} Heating it up brings out different flavors but it’s equally delicious either way!

Store leftovers in an airtight container and refrigerate.

Maybe it’s because I’m a savory person.
It sounds great! except the mayo! I hate the stuff. Have you ever tried it with plain yogurt? Just wondering. 🙂 I have really enjoyed your blog since I have been following, thanks for sharing!!!
