A Princess Celebration

I created this Princess celebration as part of a sponsored post for Collective Bias® and their client. #DreamParty #cbias
I love hosting themed playdates and parties for my kids, making a celebration out of regular days.  Like most girls, my younger girls love the Disney Princesses so a princess-themed morning sounded ideal to them.  We invited a couple of friends over and, using Disney-themed items found at Walmart, had a very pink, very fun time!  With an entire line of decorations and activities from Hallmark, hosting a themed playdate was simple and convenient.  I made one stop at Walmart and found everything we needed to create our princess party.
One of the easiest ways to create a playdate is by setting the table according to the theme.  I wanted the girls to feel as though they had walked into the Princess Zone when they saw the table, setting the mood for their time together.

Princess Dream Party

Whimsical three-dimensional princesses were the perfect centerpiece and their tulle skirts added some texture to the table.  An upside-down bowl under the middle princess provided some height and contrast.

The storebought plastic tablecloth was so cute with its patterned edge and princess design …

… but I softened it up with a layered table runner made from a piece of fabric and a strip of tulle.  I also added some metal stars as table confetti.  You can never have too much shimmer and sparkle at a princess party, right?

I set each place with themed plates, napkins, and cups …

… and added little carriage place cards {cut from cardstock with my Silhouette} and a small bubble favor.  I added simple touches, like coordinating, colored straws to add color to the tablescape.

I also placed a small Princess toy at each place {a little take-home favor for the girls}.

Tate and Lila loved the pretty table with all of its princess details and it set a sweet tone for their time with friends.

Before the party started, I raided our dress-up box and set out a selection of poofy, pretty princess dresses.

When the girls arrived, they each chose a dress to wear {except for Tate who was just too shy to get dressed up}.

Once the girls were all glammed up in princess gowns, we had a craft time.  In addition to decor, the Hallmark line had a large selection of craft and activity kits that were perfect for our party.

themed crafts and activities
The girls decorated pink wands, colored princess paper dolls …

… and strung candy bracelets.

I also added some sparkly pipecleaners and large glittery buttons to the basket so the girls could make big, shiny rings.

The little princesses crafted quietly for a long time and Kennedy and Luke even joined them.  No one can resist a candy necklace {I may even have snuck a few candies while “helping”}.

When the girls finished their projects, I served snacks from this cute carriage snack caddy …

… and finished with our beautiful garden cake {one of the many varieties of birthday cakes at Walmart}.

The fancy cake was definitely a highlight!  The girls loved the ring {that changes color in the sunlight} …

… and the keepsake princesses.  And all that sweet icing was pretty popular too!

Our princess morning ended with lots of giggles, some bubble blowing, and a bit of free time to play.

When the girls went home, they took small treat boxes filled with Princess erasers, mirrors, and a few other themed trinkets as well as the dolls they found at their place settings.

Our Princess Dream Party was so simple to host with themed Hallmark products and one quick stop at Walmart and it was the perfect way for Lila and Tate to spend a morning with friends.
Are you hosting any parties this summer?  What’s the best birthday party you’ve hosted?

HOW CUTE! Was it more fun for the girls or for you? I think you did a precious job and the decor was perfection!
