A Pool Party

The invitations were mailed out last week and today was Kennedy’s last hurrah before school starts.

A pool party

Kennedy filled the pool with balloons (an idea we stole from Amy) …

A pool party
… salty snacks were set out in sand buckets …

A pool party
… along with bright, summery plates and napkins …

A pool party
… and cold drinks to fight off the high temps.

A pool party
These slushies were an idea we took from American Girl …
A pool party
… and so were these island-style pudding cups (although the taffy leaves drooped so badly that we substituted mint leaves on the palm trees instead).

A pool party
The girls all seemed to have a great time and it was fun to watch Kennedy having fun with such an awesome group of girls.

I love it! My daughters wanted to have a pool party this summer, but time just got away from us and now they’re back in school. I’ll definitely save some of those ideas for next year though. Thanks for sharing them!

Did you do anything special to weight the balloons down in the pool?

We added a bit of water to each one and then filled the rest of the way with air. That way they won’t blow away.
