A Locket

I wanted to give my Mom something sentimental to celebrate her 65th birthday.  She often wears large necklaces so, inspired by this, I decided to transform a locket.  I found a large and neat-looking locket months ago at Charming Charlie.

A locket
I folded coordinating scrapbook paper (I coordinated the paper with the gems on the front of the locket) into an accordion and glued pictures of my kids on each section.  The last accordion section is hot glued onto the inside of the locket.
 A locket
When folded, the paper fits neatly into the locket and the locket is held securely closed by its magnetic clasp.

I really like that I was able to mix some sentimentality with something that my Mom will {hopefully} wear regularly.

I’ve started truncating my posts … please pop over to my blog to read the rest!
