A First Aid Kit for Dolls

This summer, we found a cute Get Well doll on clearance at Target for an amazing price and the boys stashed it in the attic to give to Lila for Christmas.  It comes with a syringe, a medicine spoon, and a stethoscope.  You can actually hear the dolly’s heartbeat through the stethoscope and she does something when she’s given medicine {we haven’t figured it out yet since we didn’t want to take the doll out of the box}.  The doll is just perfect and I decided it would be fun to make a first aid kit for dolls to go along with the gift.

I love adding small DIY details to store bought gifts to make them a bit more personal.

And this doll is definitely in need of a little medical care {wink}.  When the doll’s hand is pressed, her face gets flushed and she coughs.  How cute is that?

In addition to the items that came with the doll, we decided to add a few more items..  I found a small black case lying around the house …

… and added a slip-on cast {a simple bootie shape sewn from felt}, a few felt bandaids, a felt eye patch stitched on to a piece of elastic, and a felt bandage roll for Lila to wrap up whatever ails her doll.

I’m sure there will be a lot of doctoring going on in the house this weekend and I’m hoping this simple first aid kit for dolls will encourage a lot of imaginary play.

That is so sweet! It’ll be fun to see all the doctoring she does.

I found you through the Handmade Gifts Linky Party.

I love this idea. My daughter and her friends are into their American Girl (or knockoff, in our case) dolls and this would be a great gift for them!
