I’ve done very little fall decorating {ahem, none} so far but I did throw together a quick fall vignette in my dining room this weekend. I grabbed some natural elements from the outdoors and mixed them with a few vintage touches. We finally got some cooler fall weather and it inspired me to bring the outside in. Now I need to dig out the pumpkins and really get fall happening around this place.
Last year I wrapped some candles with old white sweaters for a warm look but this year I had the kids gather a few leaves {if our leaves ever change color, I’ll replace these ones with red and yellow} and used strips of washi tape to wrap them around a few candles.
I used a couple of different types of leaves for mixed texture and two colors of washi tape to bring in a little color then propped a metal letter against them.
I leaned my vintage post office box door up against the chippy yellow birdhouse …
… and scattered last year’s yellow painted acorns in the base of the wooden tray.
So simple but it added a colorful touch of fall to our dining room.
What touches of fall have you added to your home decor?
