A Baseball Souvenir

Luke just completed his first season of baseball.  And he loved it.

Is there anything cuter than a little guy in a baseball uniform with a small glove on his hand?

When I saw this idea on Pinterest, I knew this would be a great way to remember Luke’s first season.  Plus, if he ends up famous one day, I’ll be really glad I have this little keepsake. {smile}

I covered his hand with ink from a regular black ink pad and had him carefully lay his palm down and grab the ball {we practiced a few times with an un-inked hand}.  I love the way every line in his hand shows on the ball.

I used a black Sharpie to write the year …

… and then put the ball in a plastic case and tucked it up on Luke’s trophy shelf.

This was the simplest way to create a neat keepsake and I just love it.  And I’m sure I’ll love it more as the years pass and that little hand gets big!
