I used to love holiday shopping but as I get older and life gets busier, I’m all about simplifying. Instead of running from one store to the next, I love one-stop shopping. This holiday season, Office Depot and OfficeMax have the answer to the holidays. You can shop, personalize, wrap, and ship all in one store! And I have 5 creative gift wrap ideas using items from the office store so your presents can be fun on the inside and the outside!
The inside is easy! Buy a laptop for your techie son, art supplies for your creative daughter, make a customized calendar for the grandparents, and fill up the stockings with personalized ornaments, colorful pens, and fun duct tape. Take advantage of lowest prices ever on Black Friday deals! {Black Friday sales will start on Thanksgiving Day at 6 pm and online deals will start at 12:01 am on Thanksgiving morning.}
Then grab supplies at Office Depot and OfficeMax to wrap everything up. A roll of white paper, a bag of rubber bands, bright price tag stickers, metallic pens, and chalkboard and dry erase tape are all you need to make your gifts stand out under the Christmas tree!
Get inspired by these 5 ideas and then create some of your own.
For each of the gift wrap ideas, begin by wrapping the gift with plain white paper. One of my favorite tricks: turn patterned wrapping paper inside out and use the plain white backing if you can’t find white paper.
1. Chalkboard Tape Gift Wrap
Use chalkboard tape to create a Christmas tree on the front of the gift. Cut strips of tape in tapering sizes and stack them on each other. Use a paper punch to cut a star for the top and add a short piece of tape at the bottom to create a tree trunk.
Use chalk or a chalk pen to add a personal message.
2. Dry Erase Tape Gift Wrap
You can make a Christmas tree out of dry erase tape {use colored paper to make it stand out} or simply run a stripe of dry erase tape across a gift and add a message or a few doodles.
Get the kids involved by allowing them to doodle on the tape. The great thing about dry erase tape? It can be easily removed from gift bags so they can be used again.
3. Price Tag Garland Gift Wrap
Space price tags, sticky side to sticky side, along a piece of twine and wrap the completed garland around the present.
Use one color for a monochromatic look or lots of colors for a bright and colorful package. A note to the recipient can be added across the dots.
4. Rubber Band Gift Wrap
Instead of ribbon, use red and green rubber bands wrapped around the gift to create a modern look.
Create a simple pattern or place the rubber bands diagonally for a more geometric style.
5. Metallic Star Gift Wrap
Use a paper punch to punch a star from a scrap of paper then use the paper as a stencil on the gift wrap.
Color the star in completely or draw stripes through it.
Simple, right? And the possibilities are endless. Office Depot and OfficeMax are full of fun supplies that can be repurposed into creative gift wrap. Wrap your gifts and then take advantage of convenient in-store mailing and shipping via UPS and USPS at Office Depot stores and FedEx and USPS at OfficeMax stores.
