Garage Organization Project

This is a sponsored conversation written by me on behalf of Newell Rubbermaid. The opinions and text are all mine.

I’ve been vowing to clean and organize my garage for about three years now. It will be organized at times and then my five munchkins turn it into a tornado again. Can you relate? This month I’m on a quest to complete this garage organization project! Want to see my plan?

garage organization project

I’ve used the Rubbermaid FastTrack system in my garage before {it holds items over my work bench that I want to be able to reach quickly} and I knew it would be perfect for this project. This garage disaster has got to be contained! Bikes are constantly falling over {one tipped bike has a domino effect} and we can hardly walk or work on a project in this space. And park a car? Forget it!

I went to Home Depot …

… and bought three Rubbermaid FastTrack rails {I think I’ll go back and grab one more}, hardware packs, and a variety of hooks: multi-purpose hooks, utility hooks, cooler hooks, vertical bike hooks, and ladder hooks.

I bought multiples of many of the hooks {ahem, like seven bike hooks} and when I finish the project, I’ll show you how I used them all.

I love the variety of shapes and sizes and they’re all so easy to pop on and off and rearrange {which I love because I’m sure I’ll want to adjust things as we start using this system}.

I’ll also be adding a large shelf, a wire basket, and a vertical ball holder. These items aren’t available in stores but they can all be found online. I can’t tell you how excited I am to corral our piles of soccer balls and basketballs into one place!

I have a large blank wall in the garage and I plan to maximize that space into organization central. The great thing about Rubbermaid FastTrack is that it allows you to use your entire wall and not just find spots where studs are located.

In order to get started on my project, I made a diagram of the way I want to use that garage wall. My goal is to hang and organize all of the outdoor toys and equipment in a way that makes them easily accessible to the kids and, most importantly, easy to put away again!

It looks easy, right? I’m so excited about tackling this project. In a few weeks, I’ll share the big garage organization project reveal!
