Rustic Burlap Party Favors

We hosted a rustic burlap chocolate fondue party for my daughter’s fourteenth birthday and I wanted to share the cute little favors we sent home with the girls.  Now that these girls have hit their teens, they’ve outgrown goody bags so we made rustic burlap party favors for the girls to take home instead!  They were quick to throw together but the little tags made them look really cute and they were a great finishing touch to the evening.

Round EOS lip balms are really popular with my daughter and her friends so we bought one for each girl.

I cut squares of burlap, large enough to fit around the lip balm with room to tie on top.

I wrapped the burlap around the lip balms, pulled the fabric together at the top, and tied it tightly with coordinating twine and yarn from my yarn and ribbon stash.

I left a little extra length on the twine and yarn so I could easily attach a tag.

I simply made the tag on the computer {the font is Fat Free}, printed it out on parchment colored paper, cut it into the shape I wanted using my paper cutter, and used my glue gun to add a little burlap ruffle.  To make the ruffle, I just cut a small strip of burlap and cinched it as I glued it down.  Nothing fancy but it adds a cute rustic pop to the tag.

I punched a hole in each tag and attached them with the twine and yarn …

… and had really cute party favors made in just minutes.

The natural look of the burlap was a perfect fit for the rustic tone of the chocolate fondue party and these simple party favors were a big hit with the girls!
