Peanut Butter Cup Basketball Treats

The love of college basketball {and all basketball, really} runs deep in this house.  When college games are airing,  my boys are watching them.  Drafts and brackets and March Madness are all common words at this time of year.  Since the games are going to be on, I thought it would be fun to plan a few game day basketball snacks, including these peanut butter cup basketball treats, for the viewers.  Who doesn’t love a little impromptu party?

I went to our local Walgreens {conveniently located right around the corner} to get some orange snacks and drinks.

Coca-Cola, Coke Zero

I found everything I needed in one place and came home to set up a fun little themed tablescape for the family.

I threw some cheese balls in a DIY repurposed basketball serving bowl …

… poured some Reese’s Pieces into an old trophy cup we had hanging around {I love to shop around my house and find items to use for tablescapes and decor} …

… used an old basketball and a small locker from my son’s room in the background …

Hershey's, Reese's Pieces

… and set out cups and bottles of Coke Zero.

My younger kids were thrilled they got to drink Coke since they rarely get caffeinated drinks!

The most popular treats were the peanut butter cup basketball treats!

I used orange icing to pipe thin stripes onto the top of regular-sized peanut butter cups, turning them into mini basketballs.  {If you follow me on instagram, you got a sneak peek of these yesterday.}  It was super quick and easy to add the icing and they were an instant fun treat.  The lines are imperfect but they still look really cute, don’t they?

I love turning regular moments into something special with a few simple treats.

We turned on the Friday afternoon games …
