Thanks to World Market for sponsoring this treehouse inspiration post.  All thoughts and opinions are my own.

You all know who Gilles Marini is, right?  I recently had an opportunity to submit a treehouse inspiration design board for his daughter’s new treehouse.  I shared ideas for decorating the inside, using products from World Market.  He didn’t choose my design but I love my choices so I want to share them with you anyway … and then I’ll show you some photos of the actual tree house, the design he chose, and some of the other ideas that were submitted!  And then we all need to build our own treehouses, right?

I love the simplicity of this treehouse.  It’s truly what you expect when you think of a backyard treehouse, isn’t it?  I would have loved to have a space like this when I was a kid.

I chose a bold, colorful, and inviting tone for the treehouse, with a slight exotic flair.

Cushions would provide the main seating and all the decor would be low to the ground for a cozy feeling, just perfect for a treehouse.  I wanted to hook or velcro long outdoor cushions to the wall and place another long cushion on the floor in front to create an on-the-ground frameless sofa.  Colorful poufs, cushions of different sizes, light throws, and lots of bold outdoor pillows would create the perfect, cozy hideaway.

A few extras would complete the look: a mailbox, of course, battery operated mason jar firefly lights, a couple of small but colorful tables, a basket for books attached to the wall, a chalkboard for messages, lanterns with flameless LED candles, and hooks for hanging a tote bag or a hoodie.

I can just picture all these fun things scattered around the treehouse … and I kind of want to move in {wink}.

As I said, Gilles Marini didn’t choose my design but do you want to take a peek at the design he did choose?  Kelly from Eclectically Vintage created the design board that was chosen and her ideas are fabulous {I love that we chose a lot of the same color ideas}.

Let’s take a step inside!

The natural light in this treehouse is so fabulous and I love that Kelly also chose firefly lights and lanterns to add ambience in the evening hours.

The bold colors are so fun.  I love the layering of the rugs, the bar cart for snacks and beverages, and that cozy little chair.  Wouldn’t it make a perfect reading spot?

The treehouse is fabulous in the day but it’s magical at night.  What a quaint and charming spot!
