Tips and Tricks for Creating a Tablescape

sponsored this post and the google hangout on air but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Setting a table for a party or dinner is one of my favorite things.  I love , planning a centerpiece, and gathering up items that will add a bit of fun to the table.  While I’m no expert, I do have a few tips and tricks for creating a tablescape that I stick to every time.  My ideas stray from the traditional white-linen, china clad table and embrace a table that’s a reflection of color, character, and personality … and I hope my ideas create a welcoming spot for guests.

When it comes to planning a tablescape, I love to mix and match.  I like to mix patterns with solids {or even with other patterns}, I like mixing formal with informal {paper plates with cloth napkins}…

… and I like adding small details that pull the table together and carry themes and colors through everything.

I also love to add one or two wow factors along with a touch of the whimsical and customize regular table settings to add a little something extra.

I shared specifics plus a few more details, tips, and tablescape tricks in this google hangout {and also demonstrated the simple folding technique for the napkin pocket in the photo above}.  If you’ve got seven minutes, grab your favorite drink, pull up a comfy chair, watch the video, and then tell me your favorite tips and tricks for setting a great table!
