Simple Time Out Bench

For a long time, Tate has spent her time out sessions in a pack ‘n’ play set up in my room.  I recently got tired of having such a cumbersome time out spot and trusted that Tate was ready to sit on a stool and endure her time so I embellished this simple time out bench that’s both practical and cute!

While junking at First Monday Trade Days in Canton last weekend, I found a sweet little distressed stool.  It’s very plain but the distressing adds a great touch.

And it’s the perfect size for Tate.  It’s short and close to the ground and just the right size for a tiny bottom.  And it’s cute too!  Having the time out spot in a common area of the house makes it easier to enforce the time out so I kind of wanted something that suited my style.  Is that crazy?

I decided to add a little embellishment to the stool to customize it a bit so I used my cutting machine and glossy orange vinyl to mark the spot.  And I warned Tate not to pick the vinyl off while she’s in time out {wink}.

Tate loves her new little stool which is a good thing since my little two year old is spending a fair amount of time there these days.

What do you use for a time out spot?

I love it. Has she put herself in a time out yet. I always loved when Elisha would do that for herself.

That’s so cute! I can’t imagine sweet Tate needs to spend much time on that stool!

Love the stool! So cute! Got to love toddlers. Do it now and you don’t have to do it later 🙂
